Based on the 2 front pages of The Observer from the 1960s.
Written prep on your blog. Title: SOCIAL & CULTURAL CONTEXTS in THE OBSERVER 1960s
Bullet points of every representation of women - as many as possible, of different kinds
-the woman is looking like she is being controlled by the man, as his arm is around her
-Jackie's points in the newspaper 1 are not very long as it says 'we are very happy' as it may not be true.
- 'objects' due to them only being seen in the corner advertising sexual objects and lingerie
Bullet points of every mention of representation of ethnicity (or lack of it)
-there is a lack of black people shown in the Observer newspaper
- there is black woman represented with a man showing that they are together and the white can be seen (together) with the black
Overall there is a strong lacking of black people shown in these covers. Majority of these papers involves white people and their stories.
Bullet points on social conditions (like divorce)
-'lawyers will urge divorce by consent'
