Press freedom and regulation question: What is meant by 'a free press'? When The Guardian newspaper investigated (and revealed) what The News of The World newspaper had done to get stories, what big changes in press regulation resulted?
Convergence question: "When newspapers operate online there is technological and cultural convergence." What does this mean in The Observer?
Newspaper audiences question: The Observer has different sections designed to appeal to different types of readers. Explain this with examples.
Uses and gratification question: how does The Observer meet readers' needs for personal identity and social integration?
Active/passive audiences question: in what way can The Observer's audience be 'active' ?
1. The Guardian and Observer are owned by a trust set up in the 1930s to protect the independence of the Guardian newspaper and to keep safe the newspaper’s values.
2. the idea of press freedom means that the press are the most of all the ‘old’ media. Newspapers can ask on political issues and journalists are expected to be highly critical of those higher above them in power. After a long campaign by The Guardian, as having hacked the voicemails of a young murder victim in a way that her parents thought she was still alive.
3. Online newspapers will use the traditional language of newspapers. they use headlines, copy, photography but also that television through video and that of social media through readers comments on blogs, or each other’s comments.
4. The New Review has more funny opinion pieces, interviews and reviews of theatre computer games, dance and cinema. This appeals to the consumer. The Sports section covers mostly male sports with a bias to football and rugby union as they are more popular than most other sports. The magazine contains much lifestyle material such as fashion, gardening, interior design, As well as more serious pieces and interviews.
5. Reading articles by journalists and responding with tweets, Instagram comments, or comments on the website may replace real interactions with people, for some readers and The Observer similarly has a set of social and political attitudes.
6. The Observer website has no user content; the audience are limited to responding to the journalists’ output

2. yes i do believe it was a conscious decision as it promotes their product to people and also is a fun way of advertising as everyone knows what Lego is and everyone loves it.
3. its important to maintain the brand identity as it gives them a lot more money if they show what their brand is called so that people can go out and buy their product. it also helps remined the audience as they now know what the brand is called and so their children would like the same thing as what they saw in the film.
