One way in which these two music videos differ is that one is
very hard rock (sk8er boi) and the other one is more of a soft rock music
(teenage dirt bag) which is all about a boy wanting a girl who doesn’t like him
back. Sk8er boi is all about a girl singing about a boy who doesn’t like a girl
but in a much more aggressive manner compared to teenage dirt bag as it has
people smashing car windows and many people gathering in a massive group
singing along to her song that she is singing. In conclusion I think the way
these two videos differ is that one of them is more punk rock and the other is
more soft rock.

ReplyDeleteYou are right in everything that you say but the exam board mark very prescriptively: this question asks for your to identify 'media language' so you need first to show how you understand that term in relation to the music video genre. Media language could refer to camerawork, editing, mise-en-scene and representation. It could also refer to the use of performance, cutting to the beat, use of refrains.
You allude to the sets and the genres, S8B's aggression and so on, but be aware that you need to stick closer to the question. This is why I insist that pupils put the question at the top of each prep.
